Pride Pledge certification is a way for Pride Pledge supporting organisations to be accredited as being workplaces which are inclusive of LGBTTQIAP+ (Rainbow) people and which are actively engaged in an ongoing journey of improvement in practice.
Pride Pledge certification is informed by global best practice and uses the Pride Pledge Rainbow Inclusion Stocktake as our assessment structure. Pride Pledge Certification is also aligned with the criteria of NZS 8200:2015 Rainbow-inclusive workplaces: A standard for gender and sexual diversity in employment, although we have chosen not to certify against that standard.
Pride Pledge has deliberately worked towards making the process both simple and strategically effective as possible by using the Stocktake as the foundation of the certification process, meaning that Pride Pledge organisations can use their existing strategic review process to work towards certification and ongoing improvement.
The design of the certification rests on the principals underpinning the Rainbow Inclusion Stocktake:
A typical client process will take 6 months minimum after the initial Pride Pledge sign up, Pride Pledge launch, training, and Stocktake phases are completed.
For clients who need it, the process can be extended to take up to three years. We recommend that clients complete the Pride Pledge ACTIVE CHECK before committing to and progressing to the Certification EVIDENCE CHECK as this improves success and ensures that best practice is integrated into the organisation’s systems, processes and culture.
A full annual bundle of services is available including certification based on organisation size for a 3 year contract term.
