Pride Pledge Gender Affirmation Policy Register

The register is an initiative by the Pride Pledge community to be more transparent about what gender affirming policies organisations have and where they can be found. This is  both an initiative to support current and prospective employees to have access to information and also a powerful opportunity to share best practice.  All organisations on the GENDER AFFIRMATION REGISTER have declared that they have a minimum set of policy requirements within their organisation. You can see some of these below or go to the “declaration” form to see the details of those commitments.

Although we encourage organisations to have gender affirmation policies which extend to their customers and suppliers, this currently sits beyond the scope of some of the policies captured by this register.

All organisations listed on the COMMITTED TO REGISTER section have declared that they are already close to and will have implemented ALL policy commitments within their organisation within a period of one year. These organisations are committed to and are intending to become fully registered as Gender Affirming organisations within the next twelve months.

The register is a voluntary register for Gold Pride Pledge organisations to profile their current gender affirmation policies. This register is not an accreditation process but is a high trust model where organisations self-declare their current gender affirmation policies. Organisations who are on the register have made a commitment to make their policies publicly available and to have them published on their websites.

If there is an issue with an organisation’s policies being out of date or incorrect in terms of their listing on the Gender Affirmation Register, please feel free to contact the Pride Pledge team with your concern. We ask that you first contact the organisation concerned for clarification around your issue before you contact our team.

All registered organisations are GOLD Pride Pledge supporting organisations who have declared that they have policies which:

  • integrate their commitments to The Pride Pledge and articulated these in a comprehensive Gender Affirmation Policy which is available internally and externally
  • are informed by input from their rainbow employee network
  • are clear and explicit in supporting a safe, inclusive and zero tolerance culture for discrimination, bullying or harassment against employees based on their gender identity or expression
  • ensure that a formal gender affirmation plan is available to any employee who is seeking to affirm their gender, including for new employees
  • include a Gender inclusive uniform and/or dress code grooming policy which supports employees and/or other stakeholders to present based on their gender identity or expression
  • has a specific gender affirmation leave policy available to employees (at least 10 days of discretionary leave)
  • has the intention that all-gender bathrooms / restrooms / changing facilities are available to employees and / or other stakeholders on all sites / locations they operate in
  • provide training on Gender Diversity
  • ensure that forms and systems have been updated to enable gender self-identification and name changes of both employees and other stakeholders
  • ensures that employees can self-select and change pronouns with ease and use these in a range of ways.
